Work group 3

Workgroup 3 will focus on the overall mental health and wellness of police officers in Southold. They will research the topic and survey police to understand all perspectives and what opportunities are available for enhances wellness to those protecting the community. They will also look at the current and potential trainings that officers should complete, as well as continuing education on multiple topics

Sonia Spar

Sonia Spar is the Co-Chair of the Southold Anti-Bias Task Force, and an active member of the Hispanic Advicory Board for the Suffolk County Executive.

Paul Pallas

Paul J Pallas is the Village Administrator of the Village of Greenport with responsibilities for the overall day-to-day management of the Village of Greenport, including a multitude of varied duties and specialties, such as being appointed safety officer.

Valerie Shelby

Valerie Shelby, born and raised in Greenport, Long Island and Suffolk Times “Community Leader” award recipient, has always been involved in the community. She graduated from F.I.T. as a business owner (Val’s Custom Design), has 2 sons, and 2 grandchildren. Valerie served 3 terms on the Greenport School Board, 1 term as a Greenport Trustee, is the Co Chair of the Anti Bias Task Force, and was featured in the book “Working on the Waterfront” by a local author.”

Jack Martilotta

Jack Martilotta is the Greenport deputy mayor, a high school teacher and a father of three trying to do his part to help our community

Alison Byers, PsyD

Alison M. Byers, PsyD is a clinical psychologist.  She originally trained and worked in Forensics as a trauma specialist.  Over 10 years ago Dr. Byers respecialized and has a practice now as an executive coach and consultant.
